Regarding Maghni AI, VocaTone's Further Involvement, and the Introduction of Crescendia

Hello, everyone!

This is Austin, president of VocaTone Studio – original co-owner of the upcoming AI-powered vocal synthesis engine, Maghni AI.

Transparency has always been our #1 priority, so allow us to start by apologizing for the extended silence. We regret being unable to provide you with consistent updates like we have in the past. Rest assured, the team developing Maghni AI has been active through the silence, and are eager to reveal what they have been so diligently working on.

Historically, VocaTone has been the face of Maghni AI as its launch library producer and co-owner, and this role had never been fully elaborated on. However, Misbah Studios has been fully handling development of the libraries since our shift to AI. This hadn’t given the talented developers at Misbah Studios (Natalia, Barham, Caleb, and Aku) who had been exclusively developing Maghni AI the gravity they deserve. As Maghni AI has gained a stronger identity over time, VocaTone’s presence as a representative has become superfluous, and we at VocaTone would like to formally distance ourselves from direct work on Maghni AI and its libraries. Going forward, Maghni AI will be developed by Crescendia, LLC, established by Misbah Studios.

VocaTone has been, at its core, a character-driven project. With our history in developing and marketing vocalists and inexperience with AI, we overestimated our capability to develop voice libraries internally. While the Misbah team has been occupied developing Maghni AI and growing the project, our own progress on VocaTone proprietary libraries hasn’t kept up to pace. This has unfortunately led to a release timeline beyond that of Maghni AI’s itself. While Oliver is set to release on-time, Aurum and Audine are now delayed to after Maghni AI’s launch; however, with the assistance of the talented developers from Maghni AI’s core team, we will keep this gap from widening and still deliver on our past promises. As compensation for the delay, those who have purchased any of the three VocaTone branded libraries through the IndieGoGo will receive a 15% discount towards any VocaTone branded library for Maghni AI, included with your account upon library activation. Those who purchased all three VocaTone libraries through the IndieGoGo will receive a discount of 25% instead. All the rewards barring the libraries themselves will be released and delivered on time.

In other news, we’d like to announce the appointment of a new voice provider for our library “Aurum.”

The initial voice library for “Aurum” contained a myriad of technical issues causing it to not meet VocaTone’s standards, and contributing to delays. We found that starting over with a fresh take that still retains the character to be the best course of action. After extensive review, we have selected DENEV (@esan223) to be the new voice provider for Aurum. He has far surpassed our initial vision and breathed new life into the character. We at VocaTone can’t wait for you to hear the new and improved take on Aurum.

As mentioned earlier, Crescendia is the sole developer and new face of Maghni AI. Built for the sole purpose of its development, it is led by Natalia Shmueli and her vice-president Cinna. Crescendia has grown far beyond Maghni AI’s small starting team, boasting a passionate group of members dedicated to Maghni AI’s further development. Members of Crescendia consist of:

  • Natalia Shmueli, project leader and president.

  • Cinna, vice-president and lead of community outreach.

  • Barham, programmer for Maghni AI’s artificial intelligence engine.

  • Caleb, programmer for Maghni AI’s backend.

  • Aku P, programmer and designer for Maghni AI’s frontend.

as well as four dedicated voice library developers, who have been busy assisting us with Oliver, Aurum, and Audine’s development. Thanks to this new company structure, we are confident in Crescendia’s ability to provide consistent updates and work to Maghni AI, helping to prevent further drops in communication.

Misbah Studios and VocaTone Studio are now devoted to producing libraries for Maghni AI. Misbah Studios, led by Natalia Shmueli, will focus on the production of professional, high-quality voices for a wide variety of purposes and genres. VocaTone Studio, led by our vice-president Crossyloid and myself, will focus on the production of character-based and experimental vocals, aiming to form strong community connections and bring a sense of fan-based excitement. VocaTone has always specialized in characters, and will continue making projects focused on this aspect, both on singing synthesis platforms and beyond.
